The Parents Asked, and We Delivered!

At Nigri Jewish Online School, we love listening to our parents—and when they asked for classes tailored just for them, we got to work! We are thrilled to share that our new parent classes launched with great success, bringing learning and connection to both moms and dads in our community.

For the Fathers: Gemara with Rabbi Yarmush
Fathers at JOS had the opportunity to dive into the Gemara their sons were learning! Led by the incredible Rabbi Yarmush, this class empowered fathers to guide their sons in their Torah studies with confidence and knowledge. Our first session had an amazing turnout, with engaged discussion and an eager request for more. We heard you—and we had more in store!

One father shared his thoughts on the initiative:

“I think it's terrific that you are holding this Gemara class for fathers of JOS students! I certainly am pleased to see JOS enabling other fathers—who perhaps don't have a way to study Gemara already—to do so with other JOS parents. The obligation is for the parents and fathers to teach the children, and it's hard to be a teacher or in any way guide the teaching of your children with help from others if you aren't currently involved in Torah study (and therefore don't have your own connection and understanding to pass along). May you continue to find tremendous success with your efforts.”

For the Mothers: The History of the Jewish Woman with Morah Aviana The children love their classes—and now, we had a class for mothers too! In this inspiring course, Morah Aviana brought to life the incredible history of Jewish women, starting with Batsheva, the woman who put her son on the throne. Together, we explored what it meant to be an Eishes Chayil, drawing inspiration from the past to uplift our present. The response was overwhelming, and we were excited to continue this journey together!

Both classes were met with enthusiasm, insightful discussions, and requests for more—and we are already planning what’s next! Stay tuned for future learning opportunities and be sure to join us for our next sessions.

Let’s keep growing together!
